When I was young I had an uncle who used to drive with his eyes closed. I am sure looking back he was just squinting, a lot, but back then it seemed he was driving down the back roads with his eyes shut. It used to scare the hell out of me and my brothers and sister. We thought he was going to get us killed driving and talking and spinning his head around with his eyes shut. I imagine that it must be a similar feeling for the folks who work at companies, especially smaller ones, where the "leaders" are driving the business down the road with their eyes closed.
We are in a world that changes so fast that it is nearly impossible for one person to have all the answers.
If it is your venture, your business, your baby, you need to do the driving, I get that, but you need to keep your eyes and ears open to what is happening around you and that includes looking and listening for input of the people you have decided to surround yourself with and the opportunities that it brings. The world moves too fast to drive with your eyes closed.
